Moreover, brother printers connecting WLAN stuck a lot because of their different wireless settings. But, you don’t need to worry as we are here to help you out to resolve your problem of the Brother printer can’t connecting to WiFi. The only thing you need to do is to follow the steps given below as it is carefully without skipping a single step.

Resolve Brother Printer Can’t Connecting to WiFi:

Sometimes, there used to be a network issue, like it used to be of very low strength, and your device is not able to access the network leading to this issue. So, as the very first step to solve your issue, you must check the strength of the signal and its connectivity to your device. If all this is fine, then you need to check for the other technical issues that could lead to this problem. So, in the following steps, we will see the step-by-step resolution of the issue, and the good part is, you can do it by yourself.

Step 1: Restarting the Device

The very first thing you have to do on finding any issue is to restart the device, that is, the printer and the router in our case. Once they restarted, and there is green light being shown on the WiFi Router, then try to reconnect the devices. If still not, proceed further.

Step 2: Keep in WiFi Zone

Now, we will check the strength of the signal being received by the brother printer. In order to do this, you need to check the WLAN section on the Printer’s screen. There you will find the bars along with the name specifying the strength of the signal. If it is less than 3 bars, then it means there is a low signal range, and you need to place your brother printer in the Wifi zone, i.e. near to the WiFi router, and now again check the strength in the same way.

Step 3: Check login credentials

Even after getting the good signal strength, it is not able to connect to the WiFi, then for the login credentials whether you are entering the right or not for your network. Enter the right information, and then try again.

Step 4: Reset settings for WLAN

If still the brother printer is not connecting to the WiFi network, or some error is being shown like, not able to connect to IP address or some error related to network, then you need to reset the setting for the existing WLAN. In order to do this, do the following:

  • Turn on the printer, and wait for the Screen to get displayed on the printer.
  • Press the ‘Menu’ button being shown on the printer. The various options will show up. Out of them, select the option of Network, press Ok, or select Next from the screen.
  • Now, select the Reset Network option and press Ok on the printer.

Step 5: Try with WPS button

In case, while connecting to the network, you are getting confused with the credentials or forgotten the password, then you can try to connect by using the WPS button. Hold the WPS button/WiFi key on your printer for 5-6 seconds and then leave it. Similarly, hold the WPS button for your router as well.  Now, the printer will take around 2 minutes to detect the availability of the network, and then it will connect automatically to it, and it will light the green light over there.

Step 6: Update software

By now, you should be able to connect to the network, but if still, it hasn’t happened, then there is a need to update the software, as, with old software, the device is not able to function properly. After updating the software, try to reconnect to the network.

If the above settings have not made any change in the situation, then the other things that could be are changing the settings of the WiFi router as there could be a problem from that point as well.

Step 7: Change the WiFi Router Settings

Usually, the brother printer used to have the Atheros Adapter, and generally, the router used to have the WPA/WPA2 encryption creating the incapability and the printer is not able to connect to the Network. Hence, there is a need to do the configuration settings for resetting the security key. So, do the following:

  • Navigate to the router admin panel.
  • In the wireless network section, go to the wireless security tab.
  • Over there, select the security mode as 64 bit WEP.
  • Now, to generate the new password, enter the password of your choice and click over the generate button.
  • Do the same for the 5.0 GHz network.
  • End up by saving all the changes and then change the name for the WiFi network.

Step 8: Uncheck the 5.0 GHz broadcasting

If there is dual bandwidth for your router, then keep only 2.4 GHz as working, and uncheck the 5.0 GHz broadcasting channel. Also, change the broadcasting signals to 9 or 11 for the 2.4 GHz network, and save all the changes.

Step 9: Reset the router

Now, if all changes still won’t work, then reset the router for reconfiguration. After saving all the changes, try to reconnect again your brother printer to the WiFi.
